There are 60 hikers who need to get across a lake in boats. Each boat can hold up to seven hikers. What is the least number of boats needed to take all the hikers across the lake in one trip?

7 hikers/ 1 boat

60 divided by 7 = 8.4

8 boats have 7 hikers in each. 56 hikers are in the boats. 4 hikers are left so we need one more boat.
